  Excellent experience, wonderful food, wine was spectacular. The concept behind the menu design is impressive (i.e. not using anything that cannot be grown in the kitchen garden). Accommodation was of an excellent standard, and very comfortable. The rain shower was lovely! Staff were very knowledgeable but a bit too formal and there was often no one to greet us at the front desk. At times service was quite slow, I'm not sure if this was due to a lack of staff or if it is normal. Dennis was amazing delivering our coffees. The taste of the water for drinking in the rooms was not very nice. Next time i will bring more of our own. The history of the area is very interesting, we enjoyed learning about it from the Cellar tour. Walks from the hotel were really relaxing also. We will definitely be back.

  Parker St Project - delicious bistro food and we were able to select wine from the phenomenal Royal Mail Hotel Restaurant wine list! The staff were polite, attentive and acentric. The parfait is a must order. Three out of four mains (chicken, duck and fish) were spot on, although a steak that was ordered 'rare' was served 'medium'. Nice relaxed lunch and worth the drive from Melbourne, although if you're looking for polish and finesse with both food and service I would suggest the main restaurant.

  Although we were both not 100% healthy we had a nice time at the Royal Mail. The cottages are lovely with a great outlook and very quiet. The staff were great always looking to help in any way they could. We felt that using the cottage garden is probably their biggest strength but also their biggest weakness. The food while good was all very similar, even though different produce was used. The food was quite rich and the artichoke desert was very, very rich. Technique was very good, but there was no use of grains or pulses through the meal which when one of us was a vegetarian was unusual. Overall we had a good weekend, but it wasn't perfect.
